Mission
Section titled “Mission”Software needs a body to act upon the world. The Hardware Engineering Team at Mujin designs and integrates the physical components that make automation possible. We solve the physics problems—electrical, mechanical, and thermal—to create robust, industrial-grade robot systems.
What We Build
Section titled “What We Build”1. MujinController Hardware
Section titled “1. MujinController Hardware”We design the physical enclosure and internal electronics of the MujinController.
- Industrial Reliability: Ensuring the controller survives in harsh factory environments (dust, heat, vibration).
- Safety Integration: Implementing safety PLCs and emergency stop circuits to meet ISO standards.
2. Robot Hands (End Effectors)
Section titled “2. Robot Hands (End Effectors)”A robot is only as good as its hand. We design custom grippers for diverse tasks:
- Universal Grippers: Capable of picking everything from heavy boxes to delicate polybags.
- Vacuum Systems: Optimization of suction flow and pressure for secure handling.
3. Sensor Integration
Section titled “3. Sensor Integration”We qualify and integrate various sensors:
- 3D Cameras
- Force/Torque Sensors
- Laser Scanners for safety zones
The Mujin Workshop
Section titled “The Mujin Workshop”Our office is a playground for hardware engineers. We have an extensive workshop equipped with:
Collaboration
Section titled “Collaboration”We work side-by-side with the Robotics System and Computer Vision teams. The feedback loop is instant—you build a new gripper in the morning, and the software team tests it on a robot in the afternoon.
